Be relieved now. Are you constantly getting error messages like free up storage space, storage space running out, internal memory low? Do not worry in this case as we will look for some ways to curb this issue below.

Here we go with the solutions.

Clear temporary files

The apps temporary or cache files in your Samsung device should be cleaned as the first step. You don’t have to fret deleting these files as you wouldn’t lose any data by doing it and also you don’t have to install any other apps to get this done.

Some apps like Instagram, Facebook , google browser etc. will leave behind temporary files overtime. To not run out of space you have to delete these files from your Samsung device. Doing this wouldn’t do anything to the real data which belongs to the app.

Now let’s see how to clear the cache manually for each apps in your device. Here you go with the step:

Head to 'Settings' and open 'Apps'.

Now click the app in which you want to remove the cache from, for example, lets choose Facebook.

Now to delete the temporary files click 'Storage'. The space taken by the app cache will be shown. Now hit the 'Clear cache' button. All your cache files will be deleted now.

Do the same with all the app so that you can clear a huge amount of cache.

Clear data of files

The second option you got to try is remove the data of the apps but you should be very conscious as clearing data could affect the app directly unlike clearing the cache.

For example, if you clear data from WhatsApp then all that WhatsApp chats will be deleted. So, in certain apps in which you don’t want to lose the important data you should avoid clearing the data. You can do this process freely on apps like google play store, google play services, messages app etc. you should be mindful of which app you can clear data of before attempting to do it so better read some article about it before hand.

The above method should be followed to clear the data as well. First go to 'Settings > apps > (app name) > storage'. Now you can choose to clear your storage or data.

Go through download folder

The download folder is where all your downloaded files will be available in your Samsung device. We sometimes completely forget to delete unnecessary files as time passes. These files are APK files, images, PDF and other files. These unwanted files keep on preoccupying more storage.

Now head to 'File manager' in your phone and open download folder or you can also make use of the my file app in your device which is pre-installed. Tap open the 'My file' app and click the 'Download' folder. Now you can pick the unused files and delete them.

Solid file explores, files by google, FX file explorer etc... are some of the third-party file explorer apps that can be used in case if you are not happy with my file app interface in your Samsung device.

Recycle bin or trash

Do you know that the files that you delete are not permanently cleared in some phones? The trash or the recycle app in your device can save the deleted files up to 30 to 90 days which depends on the app in your device. After the given time it deletes itself permanently so until then your storage keeps filling up. Now its time for you to manually clear the recycle bin to get some space.

Google photos, Samsung gallery, one drive are few apps which has recycle bins to keep your deleted files. Now for example we will look at the Samsung gallery app. Head to the app and press the three-dot icon and next chose the recycle bin. Chose the file and tap the button which says empty.

Analyze the storage usage

To check what’s consuming your phone space, Samsung device comes with an analyzer which is built in the system. You can check what’s taking up most of space like files and remove them.

Here’s how you use it: First go to my file’s app in your Samsung device and hit 'Analyze storage'. Now you got to stay patient until the system analyzes the storage. When you scroll down, you will come across many files that you want to get rid of. So, you can delete them off.

Tip: in case if the in-built analyzer in your Samsung device doesn’t work then you have to rely on some third party analyzers. If you want a suggestion for such an app then you can go with DiskUsage app. This app will reveal all the big and unwanted folders that’s been in your phone. So, you can instantly delete them to free up your storage.

Duplicate or unnecessary files

To follow this tip, you have to download and install one of the most convenient and strong apps from Google. One such app is known as 'Files by Google'. This is known as a file manager app but also comes with a smart cleaning which is an extra feature. Do you already posses a storage analyzer in your Samsung device? You can also use this app as an incorporation to that. This app has the ability to show you unnecessary or duplicate files in your device so that you can delete them to get some free space. For example: It will show memes in your chat apps that are not necessary.

Download the app and open it. At the bottom of the screen you will come across two tabs. Now click 'Clean' and you will be headed to the files that could be removed. To delete, you can take a look at these files and chose the one you want to remove, then press delete button.

Samsung devices has already pre-installed with many bloatware where the stock Android devices are incompatible. Sometimes we wouldn’t need apps such as game launcher, Samsung max etc. So, in this case you can delete them. Sometimes uninstall button in those pre-installed apps would have been grayed out. In this case you have to use the option called disable. Doing this would be beneficial in increasing the storage in your device.

To disable or uninstall such an app in you Samsung one UI launcher, you have to tap and hold the app icon. Now click uninstall or disable.

You can also switch the music streaming apps instead of downloading the music to your phone. Downloading music directly to your device would also consume a lot of space in your phone.
